Perhaps it is time to introduce you to our hero.
Sid rarely sat still, so we have many blurred photos of him. You will know what I mean if you have ever taken photos of your dog. Many show just a disappearing tail, or a wet nose approaching at speed …
But here is one of my favourites. Sid is looking very handsome. He is clipped on safely under the olive tree, whilst a load of building supplies is delivered to the terrace above.

What a handsome boy! Yes, it is difficult to take photos of our (active) pups. Even harder when they are black. Did you know that black is the least favorite color when people adopt cats or dogs? It’s so sad. The main reasons? Suspicion and the fact that these black pets are difficult to photograph. True words! I learned this when volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the biggest no-kill shelter in the US.

Absolutely. Here in Spain it’s superstition, they don’t like black dogs! So sad. Hopefully fading now.

I meant superstition. Sorry. My English is sometimes lacking… š Yes, hopefully, that is fading.

We can all work towards that. There are some beautiful black dogs working as support dogs which is lovely.
